We offer a range of after school activities and clubs for all of the pupils. Recent activities have included ballet, dance and movement, swimming, judo, enterprise education, domestic science, arts and crafts, maths and science clubs, cycle training, drama, fitness club, fencing, chess, riding, sailing, climbing and golf.
Our day begins at 8.45am for Juniors and 9.00am for Seniors and ends between 3.15pm and 4.30pm, depending on the range of sports, hobbies and activities undertaken. After school provision is available until 5.30pm.
In addition, the After School Club is available for all children from Nursery to Junior 3, from 3.00pm to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. The After School Club aims to be as flexible as possible, enabling children to attend on a regular or occasional basis for any length of time to accommodate the child’s extra-curricular activities and the needs of individual parents.
We also develop and maintain links with the wider community. Each year the school is involved with a wide range of fund-raising activities for the local community and for projects in the rest of the UK and abroad. We regularly support local children’s charities and in addition we hold an annual ‘Children in Need’ day and a non-uniform day for UNICEF. The pupils understand the importance of helping others and for many these events take on huge personal significance.
We also like to instil responsible attitudes to the natural environment and to the school. Our House System encourages good behaviour and positive attitudes. Members of Junior 7 and Senior 5 and 6 are given the responsibility and honour of being House Captains.
We have a Pupil Council with representatives from every class in the school. The Pupil Council meets regularly to discuss whole school issues. The Council is encouraged to contribute to the formation and development of school policy.
There is also a council for Eco-Schools, again with representatives from every class. This group meets to discuss the implementation of eco-friendly policies the school as a whole can undertake.
