I would like to offer the pupils and staff my warmest congratulations on the school’s best ever performance in the SQA examination diet.
I am delighted to announce that:
At National 5, our pass rate was 93% and an astonishing 56% of passes were at A grade. In addition, 4 of our pupils: Emma Baxter, Katherine Birch, Benjamin Counsell and Poppy Jones achieved 8 ‘A’ grades. 10 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate with Drama and French pupils all achieving A grades.
At Higher, our pass rate was 83% and 45% of these passes were at A grade. In addition, 2 S5 pupils achieved 5 A passes; congratulations to Fraser Greig and Lex Kiemel-Hamilton. Again, 10 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate with Art & Design, ESOL and Modern Studies pupils all achieving A grades.
At Advanced Higher, our pass rate was 86% and 42% of these passes were at A grade. 6 of the 8 subjects offered at Advanced Higher achieved a 100% pass rate with Mathematics seeing all 3 students achieving A grades, including Christina Birch of S3.
For a school that prides itself on not academically selecting its pupils, these results show that our maxim of being kind and working hard is paying off. It reflects positively on our ethos of developing critical thinkers who are not spoon fed information but who are educated in the broadest possible sense.
Well done all.
