Growing Together

At Clifton Hall Nursery, our day is centred around continuous provision, where children have the freedom to choose how, where and with whom they learn. Our indoor and outdoor environments are open and accessible throughout the day, allowing children to move confidently between spaces and follow their interests.

Children are warmly welcomed from 8.00am and begin with self-registration and free exploration. They may choose to construct, create, role-play, investigate, or head straight outdoors. Our nursery garden is a natural extension of the classroom and forms part of our daily provision. Whether climbing the wooden fort, experimenting in the mud kitchen, building with loose parts or hunting for bugs, outdoor learning takes place in all seasons.

Throughout the day, children are invited to join stories, singing and specialist sessions such as Music or Modern Foreign Languages, while staff carefully observe and extend learning within play.

Weekly Swimming lessons are offered to children in pre-school, while younger children engage in creative and enquiry-based experiences within the continuous provision.

We are delighted to offer Forest Kindergarten sessions across our 52-acre campus, where children develop confidence, resilience and a love of nature through exploration and play.

Each day is flexible, nurturing and shaped by children’s choices, placing independence and discovery at the heart of Nursery life.

The Nursery day ends at 3pm but wrap around care is provided in our After School Club (located within the Nursery building) until 5.30pm.
