Clifton Hall School Woodland Trail

Set within the stunning 52 acres of Clifton Hall School grounds, our newly installed Woodland Trail offers a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich biodiversity that surrounds us. Designed to inspire curiosity and connection with nature, the trail features 10 waymarker/ rubbing posts, each highlighting fascinating facts about some of the diverse flora and fauna found on site—from majestic oak trees and towering redwoods to elusive badgers and soaring buzzards.

Guiding you along the route are six finger posts, leading to key outdoor learning spaces including our fire circleoutdoor classroomforest kindergarten site, and the picturesque River Almond. At the trailhead, located near the Study Hub, you’ll find a detailed Trail Map. For added convenience, a QR code provides instant access to the map and a wealth of additional information—perfect for enhancing your experience as you explore.

The purpose of the Woodland Trail is simple yet powerful: to encourage the Clifton Hall community to enjoy our magnificent woodlands, deepen their understanding of our outdoor environment, and discover the incredible wildlife that calls it home.

A Special Thanks

This project would not have been possible without the perseverance of Mrs Cockburn, who presented the idea and managed it through to completion, and the generous support of our Parents’ Forum, who matched school funds to bring this vision to life. Together, we’ve created a resource that will enrich learning and foster a lifelong appreciation for nature.
