Headteacher – Mrs Jill Drummond
Jill Drummond lives in West Edinburgh with her husband, their two children, and the family Labradoodle. She was educated at The Mary Erskine School before going on to study at the University of Edinburgh, where she graduated with an Honours Degree in Physical Education.
Jill began her teaching career in 2000 as a Physical Education teacher at Broxburn Academy, where she worked for eight years. She joined Clifton Hall School in August 2008 at the time of the merger with St Serf’s and has been a valued member of staff ever since.
Most recently, Jill served as Pastoral Care & Guidance Coordinator, a role in which she focused on strengthening the culture and ethos of the school. Her leadership has been closely tied to the development of extra-curricular opportunities—particularly in sport and residential trips—which continue to enrich the wider life of the school.
In August 2025, Jill was appointed Headteacher of Clifton Hall School. She brings to the role a deep understanding of the school community, a passion for pupil wellbeing, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment.
Away from school, Jill enjoys attending sporting events and taking long walks with her dog. She is proud to continue building on the school’s strong foundations and asks just two things of every young person at Clifton Hall: Be kind. Work hard.
